An Irlen Success Story!
Two young lives forever changed by an Irlen screening!
Recently, after a mother saw Everything Reading’s Face Book page, her children’s years of reading difficulties all began to make sense!!
They can both read from dark coloured backgrounds, but reading from white pages is almost impossible for them. Just a few sentences into reading, the words become blurry and then begin to appear to move on the page. Trying to push through this and complete reading assignments brings on various symptoms including headaches, dizziness, and nausea. Understandably, this makes school assignments both physically exhausting and a real challenge to complete!!
But with an Irlen screening they were both able to find relief with the use of colour! By placing a coloured overlay over the page, words no longer appear to be blurry or moving. Reading has become comfortable!! The child who was told by a teacher that he could never pursue post-secondary studies because he couldn’t read, now has a chance of pursuing his dreams. The daughter who loves to learn, is now excited to go to the library to find a book to read! Two lives have been forever changed because of a 2-hour Irlen Syndrome screening and a coloured overlay!
